| Hi, we represent the French fans. Tonight we begin your second European tour. How do you feel today? Mark : Today I feel excited and very jet-lagged. I think we are all very excited to start the tour and play the shows and we are all a little weird for not having slept in the last three days. Why do you begin in Paris? Is there a reason? Mark : Mmh, well, no. Craig : We love you! Oh, thank you. Mark : That’s just how the tour ended up being routed but I love Paris. It’s always a fun city to come to. I love that store “Colette” just down the street, you know the store? It’s cool stuff. And walked around, bought some food, have some good coffee. Weather is fine today, better than yesterday... Mark : Yeah. Yesterday was cold and windy. And last night my friend Craig here wanted to sit here to four in the morning. Shane : And he got soon after! Craig : Oh dude, last night… |

Hey, what about Caroll? She is singing on the album with you on a song, do you keep contact with her for the band? Mark : Yes, absolutely. I talked with her not so long ago. She is pregnant and about to have her first kid so she’s happy. Maybe will she happen on a concert with you? Mark : Oh, I’d love to have her come out and sing some time in a while, that’d be really fun. Because she was on the first version of “No It Isn’t”. But you changed the version after. Is there a reason for it? Mark : Oh, we thought that song was done and then as we’ve continued to write the record and got, we loved that the… that the song took off in the last part of the song and that was such a cool part that we wanted to extent it and have that be a larger more substantial part of the song. So we set to go back here and do some more tracking on that. For the concert, what’s the favorite song you prefer to play? Mark : Mmh, I don't know. I love the first song. I love “Lycanthrope” .I also love mmh… “Cliff Diving” is always really fun to play. They are all fun to play for different reasons, like the fast songs are fun to play because you just got to rock out with your instrument and then the slower songs are fun because you got to be a little more dynamic and maybe moodier or whatever, so I don't know. I feel that the set is really dynamic and goes to a lot different places so it's fun to play. Craig : Oh man, probably “Cliff Diving” too. Mmh, that’s my favorite, I really like the chorus, just feel like it bounces. It feels like it dances. Mmh, that and I have to say “Chapter XIII”. I like every song too, you know. It just depends on what I’m in. Shane : […] “Lycanthrope”, “Cliff Diving” and “Chapter XIII” are my favorite ones. |

There is only one date in France but you make some in England or in Germany. How do you decide how many you do in a country? Mark : It’s really up to the promoters and the booking agent. We don’t choose. They say “one in France”, you do one in France? Mark : Yeah. It’s, you know, it’s really… it’s depending on the promoters and the… and the booking agent. They work things out and how long we can be over here and what makes sense for the tour. And we… we just play the music. I wish… we have one show in Italy. I wish we had more shows in France, I wish we had more shows in Italy. And… I don’t know what makes one country get one show and another country get five shows, or whatever. So it’s all up to the agent and the promoters. I mean, the amount of time we have over here. |

My question is for Craig and Shane. You don’t sing a lot on the album. Maybe on the future album… will you sing more or write new songs? Both? Craig : Uh, it’s always hard to say what’s going to happen in the future, you know. But I would imagine, you know, I’ve joined the band a lot later, you know, than Shane and the rest of the guys, you know… so it… mmh, I didn’t have as much input so you know, mmh. And hopefully in the future we hope to sing a little bit more and be writing more. Mark : You’re going to take over. |
